Performs the Music of the legendary Duke Ellington. As a jazz performer and educator, Rodney has a long and passionate association with the music of the great Duke Ellington. This concert will result in a high-quality performance that combines his interpretations of classic Ellington pieces with some rare gems that are less performed. The performers who will execute the repertoire are Tim Blackmon-trumpet, Stephen Grady-tenor sax, Sequoia Snyder-piano, Michael Reed-drums, Rockelle Fortin-voice and Rodney Whitaker-bass.
